J. BOOGIE
Stats: 5’10,” Brown eyes
Birthday: November 28 / Sagittarius
J. Boogie is a triple threat in Men of “X” as host, performer, and choreographer. His killer combination of charisma and jaw-dropping moves connects with the audience, leaving the ladies breathless.
Born into an entertainment family in Simi Valley, CA, J. cites some of his early influences as James Brown and Michael Jackson. With the natural ability to master many styles of dance, J. entered and won several dance competitions, including the King of the West, and later, ABC’s “Dance Machine,” where he became the show’s first $10,000 winner. He then joined a production of ”Fame” in New York City and was later selected as one of the lead dancers performing on tour with TG4 and Tyrese.
Conquering the Entertainment Capital of the World was J.’s next step, although, oddly enough, his first venture was character work at M&M World on the Strip as “Red.” Not one to sit still, J. breathed new life into “Red” and incorporated a dance program for the quirky characters. He then went on to perform as Usher in the Stratosphere’s “American Superstars” tribute production, and later became a member of Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino’s house band as a percussionist.
As if all of that dancing isn’t endurance enough to keep J. in perfect shape, he’s also played semi-pro basketball for the Vegas Blaze and competes in local MMA and Jiu Jitsu tournaments. Outside of the show you can often find him hanging at Vegas hotspots with friends, or riding around town on his Honda CVR 600 RR sport bike.
Ever the consummate performer, J. is thrilled to be an integral part of Men of “X” and showcase his expressive creativity through his solo routines, mastering the art of the dance and ultimately ensuring that the audiences leave wanting more. |
